Weather Discussion and Forecast Jan. 27, 2003 4:00 PST Current Conditions: The cloud shield finally pushed over this morning followed by an upper level trough with relatively cool air and some clearing. Winds have calmed down and are blowing from the west at many locations over the coastal waters. This trough should slowly pass over tonight and be followed by the leading edge of the next system Tuesday. Short-Term: Conditions should be fairly calm tonight and most of Tuesday. Some small-scale stuff is banging around so winds will be variable and hard to predict but should stay below 10-15 kts. A few showers are possible but should shut off after dark and you may get a view of the stars off and on. The leading edge of the next system is not expected untill Tuesday afternoon when S. winds should pick back up again. This next system looks like it will pass to the north again but potential for winds in the 30-35kt range exists. Systems WEd., Thursday and Friday look like they may actuall blast through the area rather than heading north so may be more significant. Enjoy the break. Long-Term: Large-scale pattern showing signs of a ridge for next seekend but you'll have to pay some more dues first.
